A tourist pass cannot cover the 5 day stay, so an EZlink becomes the only option that covers the entire stay. Also an EZlink doesn't push you to be using the MRT/buses for those consecutive days of the Tourist Pass, therefore allowing you flexibility in your day to day plans and letting you default to walking or taxis as appropriate for some items.
